Great First Day of School! Posted 8/14/18

    Dear Fairburn Families,

Thank you everyone for a fantastic first day of school!  This year we have 460 amazing students including our new Kindergarten and TK students who are so excited to be at school.

A reminder about morning drop off:  The Rochester Gate / Parent Patio will be open for parents and students who wish to enter the campus in the mornings from 7:40–8:00 am. Parents please do not enter beyond the covered lunch area and please leave the yard once morning exercise is mostly over, you will be signaled when it is time to leave.

For parents who wish to drop off without coming onto the campus, the morning carline begins today, Wednesday and every day after from 7:40 – 7:55am on Ohio Ave heading West. Students who use the carline will be safely escorted into the yard by volunteers.

Let’s be on time to school! If students are not with their teachers in their morning exercise area when the 8:00 AM bell rings they will be marked tardy.  The gates close at 8:00am and students will need to come to the front doors of the school on Fairburn Avenue to enter the campus.

A reminder about afternoon pick up: All student pick ups at dismissal must be made on Ohio Ave.  The TK and K parents pick up at the Kindergarten yard gate and the Grade 1 – 5 parents pick up is made at the Ohio Gate.  First grade parents must enter the yard and pick up from the teachers at their line up areas.  Parents will not be allowed to use the front door on Fairburn to pick up or enter campus between 2:10 – 2:30, or 1:10 - 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Every Friday is the day to wear your Fairburn T-Shirt.  The classroom that wears the most Fairburn shirts on Friday gets to win our Fairburn Phoenix trophy for the week. See if your room can win this Friday.  Fairwear will be sold on Thursday this week in the mornings and at dismissal.

Friday Afterschool Ice Treats – This first Friday our FAB Booster club is providing ice treats for FREE to all children. Starting next week, they will be sold for one dollar as a special Friday treat.

SAVE THE DATE!  Join us on Thursday, August 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. for our annual back-to-school party. It's the official start of our the annual Pledge Drive and we'll have pizza, international potluck treats and loads of fun. Come catch up with old friends and make some new ones!

Let’s have a great first week!
