Dear Fairburn Families,
I hope you had a restful long weekend. These last weeks of February we will focus on our Read-a-thon and how we can encourage our students to read for pleasure at home. Shortly your child’s teacher will be making appointments for our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences which will take place the March 6 – 10, 2017.
This week our focus attitude is Empathy and our Learner Profile is Principled. Students who are principled have a sense of fairness and are honest with themselves and with others. They understand that sometimes there are rules and they follow them. They have an understanding of moral reasoning.
How can parents help to develop students who are Principled at home?
I am so thankful to the many parents who have helped us clean out and organize the Book Room. Special recognition to head Room Parent Tracy Alvy for her tireless leadership in this huge endeavor. We have great educational materials available to parents to use at home, stop by the Library next time you are at school and take some home.
Thank you for your continued support of our school!
Pam Marton, Principal
