State Standerds

COMMON CORE

The Common Core state standards are a clear set of shared goals and expectations for the knowledge and skills students need in English language arts and mathematics at each grade level so they can be prepared to succeed in college, career, and life.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT (ELD)

English Language Development is a program designed to advance English language fluency in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing for English language learners.

SMARTER BALANCED ASSESSMENT

With new state standards, students are pushed to work harder, to think more critically to and apply their learning to the real world. To measure these new standards, educators from states applying the new standards have worked together to develop high-quality tests in English and math for grades 3–8 and high school. The Smarter Balanced Assessment system is a reliable approach to student assessment that provides educators, students and parents with meaningful test results with actionable data to help students succeed.
